Reps & Rewards
This is home for check ins and points. Check in here each day, watch your streak and Reps grow, and spend Reps on a streak freeze so one missed day does not break your run. You earn Reps by showing up, finishing lessons, and playing trivia.
Canine Academy
Train at Your Own Pace, in locked order. Every lesson builds on the one before it, so do not skip ahead. Work at your dog's pace: 10 to 15 minutes a day. Videos are being filmed now and will land in each lesson as they are ready.
Progress is tracked for the dog selected in My Dog.
The Basics
The basics layer of Dontbeg. Quick, step by step lessons in Randy’s voice for the commands and cues every dog should start with. Tap any lesson to open its own page, with auto playing transition slides of Blueseph and Randy that show the whole progression: Blueseph looking at the ground, the cue, Blueseph looking up, then the food pay, with Randy standing on the same side of her throughout and feeding by extending his arm, never bending down.
Before we begin training at higher levels, every dog owner should know all these basic commands and cues.
That is what The Basics is for. Learn these first, at your dog’s pace, and the higher level work in Train at Your Own Pace has something solid to stand on.
- Marker word only. We use a marker word here, not a clicker. Say your word once, the exact moment your dog gets it right, then pay within 1 to 2 seconds. The marker always means payment is coming.
- Pay right. Pea sized, soft and moist, never crunchy, high value real food matched to how hard the rep was. Cut it before the session so you can pay fast and often.
- Short and winnable. 3 to 5 minutes at a time, in a boring place first. End while your dog still wants more. Set your dog up to succeed before you make anything harder.
- One new thing at a time. Distance, duration, and distraction: raise one, keep the other two easy. If it falls apart, the step was too big. Back up, that is training.
- Communication over punishment. No yelling. You are teaching a language here. When your dog does not get it, he has not been taught it clearly enough yet.
Add your dog in My Dog to track progress in The Basics and earn Reps. Every lesson below stays open either way.
The Basics covers the basic commands and cues named here: name response, look at me, sit, down, stand, wait, stay, come, leave it, drop it, place, loose leash walking, crate basics, potty basics, and socialization basics. It does not replace a trainer for serious aggression or real separation anxiety. If teeth are breaking skin, or you ever feel unsafe, book a consultation so Randy can put eyes on your dog.

The Daily Dog Feed
Dog science, training and care — a fresh set every day. No business news, just dogs.
Curated in the Canine Conscious way: what the research and real-world training actually say, and how to use it with your dog today.
New feed drops daily. Come back tomorrow for the next set.
Fix a Problem
Short playbooks from Randy's own training: the rule, the protocol, and the mistakes to avoid. When a problem is bigger than a playbook, that is what lessons and consults are for.
Ask Canine Conscious
Ask a training question. Answers come only from the Canine Conscious lessons and philosophy, and every answer names the lesson it came from. If a question needs eyes on your dog, you will be pointed to a consult instead of a guess.
Canine Conscious or Back on the Leash?
20 real scenarios from Randy's training posts, 5 per pillar. Score 14 or more and you are dubbed CANINE CONSCIOUS. Under 14, it is BACK ON THE LEASH. Finish a game for +5 Reps, score Canine Conscious for +25 Reps for your active dog.
